ABOUT SHANGHAI PEARL
The Shanghai Pearl is a performance and visual artist that explores body politics, race, gender expression, power, and wildness with humor, glamour and striptease. She has been involved in the arts for over fifteen years and has been performing burlesque for over ten. She is trained in theater, burlesque, and clown. Her burlesque and cabaret career has taken her work all over the world with frequent features in New York, San Francisco and Paris. She has been a featured guest with Teatro Zinzanni in Seattle and San Francisco and has presented her work at the Seattle Art Museum, The Asian Art Museum, The Wing Luke Museum of the Asian American Experience and the University of Washington.
